Hawthorn veteran names his favourite player at the club

Hawthorn veteran Luke Breust has named silky midfielder Will Day as his favourite player at the club.

Breust, who is entering his 14th season at the Hawks, says he knew early on that Day would shine at AFL level.

“He’s my favourite player at the Hawks,” he told Wide World of Sports.

“He walked into my house as an 18-year-old…but even then he did some things that (showed me) he was different to run-of-the-mill players.”

Day is facing a delayed start to his 2024 campaign as a result of a pre-season foot stress fracture.
