Heidi Murphy’s reaction as accused Burwood killer breaches bail conditions

A teenage driver who allegedly killed a 28-year-old in Melbourne’s east last week is reportedly already on the run.

Victoria Police confirmed the 17-year-old accused of being the driver in a fatal Burwood crash has breached those conditions and remains on the run.

The news left Heidi Murphy in disbelief, wondering what more has to happen for the government to make meaningful change on the youth crime crisis.

“I’d like to say I’m surprised but I’m genuinely not,” Heidi said on 3AW Drive.

“That right there is the entire problem that we’ve got in youth justice in this state.”
