‘He’s a ripper’: All Australian’s verdict on new Eagles head coach

Five-time All-Australian Jeremy McGovern has credited new West Coast coach Andrew McQualter with bringing a new aggressive mindset as the Eagles look to build on the progress made in 2024.

McGovern told Jimmy Bartel the former Tigers assistant has brought a spark to the young side and has already overcome the adjustment challenge for a new senior coach.

“You’re always a little bit nervous mainly from the point of getting to know him as you obviously have no relationship with him yet,” McGovern said on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.

“He’s a ripper and a great guy. He’s brought a lot of different analogies and game plans to us already and I’m looking forward to building that relationship with him.”
