Lachie Fogarty says he’s optimistic about the injury situation at Carlton, saying the club’s new fitness boss has changed the mindset within the playing group.

The Blues are dealing with separate injury setbacks to Sam Walsh and Nic Newman, with the latter to miss the entire 2025 season after rupturing his patella tendon.

Fogarty told Wide World of Sports the majority of his teammates were at full fitness, while also revealing how new Head of High Performance Rob Inness was looking to improve the side’s fitness.

“Overall everyone’s pretty healthy,” he said on 3AW.

“In a drill yesterday we had over 40 guys participating which hasn’t really happened before.”
