How Ginnivan and Watson calmed down older teammates before finals win

Josh Battle has given a fascinating insight into the pre-game mindset of his teammates before they defeated GWS Giants in Saturday’s Elimination Final

While Hawthorn’s experienced players were nervous, according to Battle – before the big game at ENGIE Stadium, it was two of Hawthorn’s younger brigade who kept the mood light ahead of the crunch clash.

“A few of the older guys were a bit more nervous knowing it was an Elimination Final and a must-win game,” Battle told 3AW Football.

“Ginni (Jack Ginnivan) and Nick Watson, before the game, they’re that relaxed. You wouldn’t even know they were going out to play a final.”
