How Hawthorn’s capitulation should serve as a ‘lesson for the competition’

Matthew Lloyd says the way Hawthorn approached the second half of Sunday’s clash against Port Adelaide should serve as a warning for the rest of the AFL.
The Hawks exploded to a 41-point lead over the Power, but were pegged up and eventually overrun, conceding two goals in the last minute of the match.

“I think it’s a lesson for the competition and I think Collingwood is very good at this,” Lloyd said on Wide World of Sports.
“If you’re 41 points up like Hawthorn were, get 47 points up. Don’t try and just save the game.”
