Anger is growing at community levels of women’s football after one local league opted to move a showpiece women’s match away from their main ground.

A Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League (MPFNL) final scheduled in the coming weeks has been shifted to a secondary venue on a Sunday night, rather than being played at the league’s main venue on a Saturday.

Jacqui Felgate also believes the top-level AFLW competition isn’t played at the right time of the year, preferring it to start in summer rather than its current slot beginning in winter.

“I really think that AFLW has lost its way,” she said on 3AW Drive.

“There’s growing anger not just at the elite level, but also at the suburban level.”
