‘I regret it’: Mike Bush apologises for Choppergate

Victoria Police top cop Mike Bush has apologised on 3AW Mornings for using a police helicopter to travel to a conference in Tasmania.

Bush has told Tom Elliott it was his decision to use the helicopter and conceded that they should have tried harder to find a commercial flight.

“When you make a call, if you can justify it in your mind, that’s all well and good, but this doesn’t land well with the public, and you’ve got to front it, you’ve got to own it, it was my decision alone, and it’s one I will never make again,” he said.
