Injury toll mounts in bruising MCG clash

The injury list has claimed two more names at the MCG with Collingowood’s Tim Broomhead and Giants Tom Scully both stretchered off with serious leg injuries.

Broomhead was chasing a ball into the goal square where he flung a boot out in order to try and kick the goal, he immediately grabbed his leg which was severely broken. Broomhead was a late inclusion for the injured Ben Reid and has only played 35 games in five seasons.

It wasn’t the only injury in the tough first term. Tom Scully has a broken ankle after his leg collapsed underneath him as he was tackled late in the first quarter.
