Checking in with inspirational Katie Stubbs has become a 3AW Mornings Good Friday Appeal tradition!

Nine-year-old Katie, who has neurofibromatosis — an incurable condition where a person lacks the gene that suppresses tumors, so every nerve ending has the possibility of developing a tumour — decided to start selling cakes at her local park to raise funds for the Good Friday Appeal in 2021.

It was such a success that it’s become an annual event!

“They taste delicious and it’s for a good cause!,” she told Neil Mitchell.

Katie and her mum are selling cakes at Apex Park on Great Ryrie Street in Heathmont. They’ll be there until they sell out!
