‘It looks like the end’: How Callan Ward injury affected the Giants

Former number one pick Lachie Whitfield says the injury suffered by GWS veteran Callan Ward hurt the side as they fell behind before fighting back to beat Richmond.

The two-time All-Australian said Ward’s speech at three-quarter time helped reinvigorate the side to get the win despite the sadness.

“Wardy’s been here since day 1 and he’s the heart and soul of this footy club,” Whitfield said on 3AW Football.
