Sam Docherty has weighed in on Jai Newcombe’s tackle on Ed Richards during the practice match at Whitten Oval on Friday night.

The Hawks midfielder has been offered a one-match ban for the tackle, with the club set to appeal at the AFL Tribunal.

“It’s an interesting case study to come out straight away,” Docherty said on Wide World of Sports.
