‘It’s pretty crazy’: Patrick Dangerfield speaks on uncertainty surrounding AFL season opener

Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield has spoken on the “crazy” circumstances in the lead-up to the start of the AFL season on Thursday night up in Brisbane.
The Cats are scheduled to play the Lions up at the Gabba, but Cyclone Alfred has put the game in doubt, with the AFL and Queensland government yet to make a decision on the match.
“I can’t quite remember an opening round where we’ve had this sort of conjecture only a few days out,” Dangerfield told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“It’s certainly got the Geelong Cats group text blowing up with different emojis of just how much rain is forecast,” he said.
Channel Seven Chief Football Reporter Mitch Cleary then provided an update on the unfolding situation.
“It doesn’t sound promising,” Cleary told Jimmy Bartel on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.
