Jacob Weitering’s message to Carlton fans after agonising Collingwood defeat

Carlton leader Jacob Weitering said it was crucial his teammates supported their young teammate in the immediate aftermath of their loss to Collingwood on Thursday night.

Youngster Talor Byrne missed a set shot after the siren – which would have drawn the game for his team – with Carlton players immediately consoling him after the game.

“You win and lose together,” Weitering told 3AW Football.

“The way we displayed getting around [Byrne] post-game was the right way to do it.”
