Jeremy Cameron handed massive ban for hit on Harris Andrews
Jeremy Cameron has been handed a five-game suspension for his ugly hit on Harris Andrews that left the Brisbane youngster with bleeding on the brain.
Cameron pleaded not guilty to intentionally striking Harris Andrews. He argued the contact was careless.
The jury didn’t agree.
During the hearing, Cameron revealed he’d sent a text to Andrews on Sunday night, telling him he felt “sick” about what happened and that he hoped there was no serious damage.
“You’re going to be a champion mate,” Cameron told Andrews in the message.
Andrews responded by telling Cameron he “felt a bit better”.
The talented young Brisbane defender isn’t expected to play again this year due to his injury.
