Jimmy Bartel’s reaction to Gary Ablett’s return to Geelong

Jimmy Bartel is a very happy man.

On the day Gary Ablett returned to Geelong, his premiership teammate couldn’t contain his joy.

“To see the little baldy man make his way to Kardinia Park is fantastic for all Geelong fans,” Bartel told Sportsday on Thursday evening.

Bartel also said Darcy Lang left the Cats for greater opportunity.

He said Geelong’s match committee preferred to play players like Cory Gregson, Lincoln McCarthy, Nakia Cockatoo, and Brandan Parfitt ahead of Lang.

“He probably thought, ‘I can’t go through another season (like this)’,” Bartel said
