Jimmy Bartel’s strong stance on new Brownlow Medal voting system
Jimmy Bartel has shared his strong opinion regarding the Brownlow Medal voting, after the news that umpires will now able to look at player statistics when voting.
The Geelong great, who won the award back in 2007, doesn’t think the Brownlow needs fixing.

“If you think there’s an undeserving winner of the Brownlow, I don’t think there ever has been,” he said on Wide World of Sports.
Former umpire of 377 AFL games, Dean Margetts, issued a similar sentiment to Bartel on 3AW Afternoons.
“I think we’ve got to be careful what we wish for,” Margetts told Tony Moclair.
