‘Kick in the guts’: CFA volunteer whacks ‘out of touch’ emergency tax

A farmer and CFA volunteer says the Allan government’s expanded emergency services tax is “galling” and “out of touch”.
On Tuesday, furious farmers will join firefighters in a mass rally outside state parliament to protest the new tax.
Mortlake farmer and CFA volunteer, John Morrison, spoke to Ross and Russ about how the community is feeling in response to the expanded emergency services tax.

Mr Morrison said it’s a “kick in the guts” for the volunteers who give up so much to keep everyone safe.
“You don’t often get people mobilising, coming to Melbourne, giving up a day of their time, it shows how disgusted we are,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.
