Nathan Wilson, Devon Smith and Matt Kennedy have all asked to leave Greater Western Sydney.

The Giants released a statement on Thursday, saying the trio wanted to explore trade opportunities.

Wilson wants to return home to Western Australia for family reasons.

Despite being contracted until the end of next season, GWS said it would try and facilitate a trade.

“We are sympathetic to Nathan’s situation and we understand Devon and Matt’s wish to explore opportunities during the trade period,” footy boss Wayne Campbell said.

“We’ll now work with the respective players and their managers to arrive at the most appropriate outcome.”

The club has also confirmed the retirement of Tendai Mzungu.
