Leigh Matthews addresses the ‘red flag’ surrounding an in-form forward

Leigh Matthews says Jack Higgins’ ability to consistently run into an open goal is a “little bit of a red flag” for him.

He said on 3AW the St Kilda livewire was either far better at reacting to the play than others on the ground, St Kilda had told him to drop back, or he isn’t helping his team defend as much as he should.

“I’d love to watch him from behind the goals, because I bet you that’s what the St Kilda coaches are doing,” Matthews said.

“When you run into open goals, regularly, that is a little bit of a red flag for me.”
