Leigh Matthews’ advice for Scott Pendlebury on coaching future

Leigh Matthews has some advice for Scott Pendlebury, after the Collingwood great told 3AW Football on the weekend that assistant coaches get paid “nowhere near” what they should be getting.

Pendlebury has been learning off Matthew Lloyd at Haileybury College, and is keen to pursue coaching at some point post-retirement, but Matthews had some advice for him on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.

“If you’re getting lesser paid than you were as a player, well that’s part of the deal,” he said.
