Leigh Matthews concern for umpires as ‘less respect’ from players amid Zak Butters saga

With 48 hours until the Zak Butters- Nick Foot disent case goes ahead under appeal, an AFL great has put his support behind the officials.

Leigh Matthews has backed umpire Nick Foot, saying the authority figure should be believed over players.

“Visible dissent has been allowed to bubble over,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.

“I reckon there is less respect for umpires now.”
