Leigh Matthews’ list of breakout finals performances

Leigh Matthews said it was “awesome” to see surprise performances at the footy, especially in finals.

He cited Mason Cox’s three goals and 11 marks in Friday night preliminary final as a prime example.

“There’s a reasonable chance that’ll be the best 15 minutes of football Mason Cox will ever play,” he said on 3AW Football.

“He was just awesome.”
