THE WASH-UP

Crow debutant Alex Keath spoke to 3AW Football on Saturday afternoon.

The code-hopper broke into the Crows’ team for the first time since crossing over from cricket.

Keath admitted he “probably wasn’t good enough” to continue his cricket career.

He said he’s had to put on a bit of weight to be able to hold his own against the game’s big key forwards.

FULL TIME

Adelaide has won by 21 points to go six points clear on top of the ladder.

Harry Taylor booted five goals in the second half – including the last four of the game – but the Crows had done enough in the first half to secure victory.

Matthew Lloyd said the Cats still rely on too few.

“Dangerfield and Selwood didn’t have great nights and they didn’t get enough from those middle- and bottom-end players,” Lloydy said.

Meanwhile, a flare was lit at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.

It was lit midway through the final term, with the home side leading by 20 points.

The flare was metres from the ground’s unique scoreboard.

Social media has reacted strongly to the incident, which Tim Lane said is probably justified.

HALF TIME

Adelaide leads by 29 points after making a blistering start.

Richard Douglas has three goals for the Crows, while Rory Sloane has two.

Patrick Dangerfield has spent a lot more time in attack than in the midfield as he battles the foot injury he picked up last week.

Matthew Lloyd said it’s a concern that Dangerfield is still the Cats’ leading possession-getter.

“There’s not enough buy-in from other players,” Lloydy said.

Patrick Dangerfield will play tonight after neither side made a late change.

Geelong assistant coach Matthew Scarlett told 3AW Dangerfield’s not 100%, but is still expecting regular output.

“He’ll have some time forward but his main role will be in the middle,” Scarlett said.

“No excuses from our end.”
