FULL TIME
St Kilda has thrashed North Melbourne by 49 points.
Jack Steven was outstanding, racking up 40 touches across midfield, while Josh Bruce, Jade Gresham, and Tim Membrey booted three goals apiece.
The result means St Kilda retains a slim, mathematical chance of reaching the finals.

Matthew Richardson said North can’t afford to put the cue in the rack too early.
“There’s nothing worse than going into a preseason being flogged in your last few games,” Richo said.
“I’ve been in that situation. It does leave a bitter taste in your mouth.”

North Melbourne defender Scott Thompson spoke to 3AW before the game.
He confirmed he’s gone through a fair few jumpers over his 198 games.
“They make jumpers so they’re pretty much rip-proof, so you end up with a heap of scratches around your neck,” Thompson said.
“It actually hurts more now; I’d rather they rip off.”

Saints coach Alan Richardson spoke to 3AW in the lead-up to the game.
Richardson said he was disappointed with the timing of former president Rod Butterss’ comments about the club.
Butterss told The Footy Show about drug and alcohol abuse in the AFL during his tenure.
But Richardson told 3AW that was 15 years ago.
“We’re a really different footy club (now),” Richardson said.
“I was disappointed for Rooey (Nick Riewoldt). He’s on the show, two games to go, and that stuff comes up.”

THE BUILD-UP
Two sides building for the future meet under the roof.
St Kilda (10 wins) appear to be further along than North (five), but the Kangaroos can dispel that with a win on Sunday.
Can the Roos bounce past their rival?
Or will the Saints keep their mathematical finals hopes alive?
