Man charged after alleged theft of car with 8-week-old baby inside

A man has been charged after he allegedly stole a car with an eight-week-old baby in the back in Mill Park last week.

Police say the Hyundai Tucson was allegedly taken from a medical centre on Bush Boulevard about 10:20am last Friday.

The car was located a short time later on Plenty Road and the baby was unharmed.

Whittlesea detectives charged a 27-year-old man from Roxburgh Park with theft of a motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle and driving while disqualified.

He is due to face the Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court today.
