Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli has commented for the first time on Jamarra Ugle-Hagan’s departure from the club.

Ugle-Hagan was handed a lifeline by Gold Coast after off-field issues saw him not play at all during the AFL season.

Bontempelli wished his former teammate well, hoping he would recapture his best at a fresh club.

“That was probably the end of the arc (for him at the club),” he said on Friday.

“It was a challenge for everyone, and I’m hopeful for him that this is the change he needs.”
