Matthew Lloyd and the club who should ‘take the risk’ by coughing up high pick for Josh Schache

Matthew Lloyd says Collingwood should pull the trigger and part with pick 6 in a deal to land Josh Schache.

The Brisbane Lions have agreed to send the former No.2 draft pick back to Victoria, should a suitable trade be agreed on.

Lloyd said on Sportsday he’d send pick 6 to the Lions in exchange for Schache and pick 18.

“If I was Collingwood, I’d take the risk,” Lloyd said.

“I would give up pick 6 and get a pick back in the late first round – I would do it.

“They’ve got nobody to help Darcy Moore.

“They might know more about Josh Schache and his personal issues than we do and might say it’s too big a risk – but from what I’ve seen in junior football – I still think he’s a brilliant footballer.”
