Matthew Lloyd explains why he’s making a one-off return to football!

Matthew Lloyd is making a return to the football field as a player, pulling on the boots in the Warrnambool and District league on Saturday.

The Essendon great and 3AW Football commentator will play for Old Collegians in a much-anticipated one-off appearance.

“I thought my (players) days were over,” Lloydy told Mark Allen and Jimmy Bartel on 3AW Breakfast.

“The Carlton Draft is for struggling clubs, this should be a bit of fun (on Saturday). I’ll be pretty sure, but I won’t be playing the week or two after so I have plenty of time to recover.”
