Matthew Lloyd says he’ll be ‘staggered’ if Tim Kelly leaves Geelong
Matthew Lloyd says he’ll be “staggered” if Tim Kelly doesn’t re-sign with Geelong.
Despite being in just his first season with the Cats, there had been strong rumours Kelly was already considering returning home to Perth.
But Lloydy has it on good authority that Kelly is set to stay put.
Speaking on 3AW Football, Lloyd said his brother Simon, who is Geelong’s acting CEO, is happy for the news to be made public.
“They could not be happier with the negotiations that are taking place,” Lloydy said on Friday night.
“He loves it at Geelong, he loves the role he’s playing.
“I will be staggered if Tim Kelly is anywhere but Geelong next year.”
Lloydy said he expects Kelly to have re-signed before the end of the season.
Kelly was taken with pick 24 in the 2017 draft after having been overlooked many times in the past. He is already contracted for next season.
