Matthew Lloyd’s fresh comments on Mark McVeigh (and what’s next for James Hird)

Matthew Lloyd has spoken about his former club after the appointment of Mark McVeigh as the new head coach during the week, and what it means for James Hird.

Lloyd said the response to McVeigh landing the top job from Essendon fans has been filled with “anger and frustration”, but thinks fans are starting to warm to him.

“I think he’s won a lot of people over,” Lloyd said about McVeigh on Sports Today.

“It’s been a fractured club for too long.”
