Matthew Lloyd’s plea to Essendon fans after James Hird misses coaching role

Matthew Lloyd has shared his thoughts on Mark McVeigh’s looming appointment as the next head coach of Essendon.

The Bombers great said the online commentary has been “pretty venomous” with James Hird missing out on the top job.

“I’m going to back Mark (McVeigh) 100 per cent, and I hope they can too, that’s all I’m going to say,” Lloyd told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.
