Matthew Lloyd’s scathing assessment of Hawthorn

Matthew Lloyd says Hawthorn has to be “brutal” with list management at the end of the year.

It follows a poor first half of the season, highlighted by Thursday night’s lifeless 50-point loss to Port Adelaide.

The Hawks never looked in it.

“It’s been a pretty sad and sorry year,” Lloyd said on 3AW Football.

“You don’t want to have another one like it next year.

“I just don’t see where their improvement comes from in the next 12 to 24 months.

“They have to be brutal, this off-season.”
