Matthew Richardson’s snap reaction after Richmond’s heavy defeat to West Coast

Matthew Richardson says Richmond must focus on fast-tracking the development of younger players on the club’s list following their heavy loss to West Coast.

The injury-ravaged Tigers were smashed on Sunday, with the Eagles saluting to notch up their first win of the season.

“It’s a year where you just have to get games into young players,” he told 3AW Football post-match.

“You just have to compete (for the rest of the season) and get game time into some of these younger guys to transition the team.

“I think they’re pretty realistic where they’re at as a club.”
