Max Gawn is the first to admit he doesn’t have much grand final experience on the football field.

But Melbourne fans shouldn’t fear, should the the Demons make it to the last Saturday in September this season.

He’s got experience of performing when it counts. Just ask him!

“I won an under-13s basketball grand final, which I was key part in, Neil,” the Melbourne ruckman told Neil Mitchell with his usual sense of humour on Wednesday.

“I was able to seal a two-pointer to win the game.”

Gawn spoke about a range of topics on 3AW Mornings, not all of it footy-related!

He’s about to open a wine bar called East End at the Camberwell Junction.

Gawn also revealed his famous beard was unlikely to make it to next season, regardless of how the Demons fare in September.
