Melbourne break unwanted finals record
Melbourne have broken an AFL/VFL finals record.
Their first-half score of 0.6.(6) is the lowest first-half preliminary final score in history, breaking the previous record of Collingwood’s 1.4.(10) back in 1898.
It’s also the first time in AFL/VFL history a side has failed to kick a goal in the first half of a preliminary final.
West Coast eventually ran out 66-point winners.
