Melbourne chief Gary Pert says reports of a post-grand final stoush between the Demons and Bulldogs at a Perth nightclub have been blown out of proportion.

Former Hawthorn player Campbell Brown said players from the clubs almost came to blows and “hated” each other.

“From all my reports it’s absolutely blown out of all proportion,” Pert said in response.

“Like all these things, you don’t like tipping water on them because these are the stories that just keep on growing as the days go on.”

Pert joined 3AW to explain how the club planned on celebrating its historic premiership with its Melbourne-based fans in the coming weeks.
