Merri-bek councillor details death threats made against him and his family over council motion

Merri-bek councillor Oscar Yildiz has detailed the death threats which have been made against himself and his family, after he voted against a motion to support Palestine in the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Mr Yildiz has had to get police involved, and claimed the people making the threats don’t understand the role of local government.

“How can a local council in Melbourne influence anything going on over there?!” Mr Yildiz told Neil Mitchell.
