‘Mess’: Tom Elliott pushes for sweeping changes to AFL drugs policy

Tom Elliott says the AFL’s current approach to illicit drugs is a “mess” and needs to be stripped back to basics.

As part of the AFL’s sweeping changes to its executive, former football boss Laura Kane has been given a fresh portfolio, which includes reforming the league’s drugs policy.

“I think the policy is a mess,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“We need to go back to first principles and say ‘what are we trying to do here?'”
