Mick Warner blasts AFL for ignoring fans and players with proposed rule changes
Mick Warner has blasted the AFL for ignoring the “overwhelming majority” of fans and players about changing the game.
The league is set to introduce an 18-metre rectangle where the goalsquare currently is, with several other changes – such as starting positions – also strong chances of being brought in.
“I can’t believe we’re going to make such a fundamental change to the history of our game, the look of the game – based on what? Two trials in the VFL.” Warner said on 3AW Football.
“We don’t know that it’s going to work.”
Warner said it was ludicrous.
