Mick Warner blasts AFL’s ‘laughable’ decision not appointing Brendon Gale

Mick Warner has accused the AFL of considering personal bias when deciding not to appoint Brendon Gale in a senior role.
The former Richmond CEO was touted as either Gillon McLachlan’s replacement as CEO or a 2IC role at AFL House, but instead was appointed as the inaugural Tasmania Devils CEO.
Warner suspects Gale’s previous dealings with key people at the AFL played a role in him being overlooked for the key roles.

“It was a laughable decision (not to appoint him) and I think it was personal,” the Herald Sun reporter told 3AW Football.
“They’d been some friction between Richmond and the AFL in the COVID years and then for whatever reason, Gale fell out of favour.”
