Mick Warner grills Brownlow favourite’s management over “grubby” demand

Mick Warner has ripped into Tom Mitchell’s management for requesting a financial fee for an interview, should he win the Brownlow Medal as expected on Monday.

3AW Breakfast was left stunned on Friday when they made contact with his management group, only to be told they could speak with him if they forked out $1000, plus GST.

Warner said it was symptomatic of a growing trend in football where everything was being commercialised.

“I just think it’s grubby,” Warner said.
