Mick Warner grills the proposed goal square changes

Mick Warner has taken aim at the extended goal square.

The AFL is considering doubling the length of the square in a bid to reduce congestion.

But the Herald Sun journo says making the square twice the length will only “move congestion 9m down the road”.

“It would be as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike,” Mick told 3AW Football.

Matthew Lloyd said the move could create blowouts against lower-ranked sides if it does serve to open the game up.
