Mick’s Grill: AFL ‘undoing the goodwill’ it’s put into women’s footy
MICK’S GRILL
Mick Warner has queried the AFL’s commitment to its national women’s competition.
It comes after the Herald Sun revealed the AFLW competition could be reduced by a week to fit a second week of finals.
The move has been widely panned by AFLW players and fans.
Mick told 3AW Football it has those involved wondering how seriously the AFL is taking the competition.
“They brought it in in good faith,” Mick said.
“A lot of the goodwill’s been undone.”
Mick said it was Gillon McLachlan’s World Cup comparison on 3AW that kept the story going.
“He’s had a bad few weeks, and another bad day, Gil.”
