‘Must be stopped’: Ben Carroll slams anarchist protesters over violent CBD scenes
Ben Carroll has called protesters who attended last Sunday’s violent protests “anarchists” who crossed a line.
The Deputy Premier has called for the protesters to remain peaceful.
“People that want to use violence as a means to their end must be stopped … when it isn’t peaceful, we need to make sure that our police have every power they need,” he told Tom Elliott.

He also says he thinks the government needs to keep an open mind with regard to the advice Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Mike Bush provides.
“Those anarchists that came in on the weekend – thankfully they were only a small minority … they have no want or ability to cooperate with Victoria Police,” he added.
