Neale Daniher dies aged 65 after brave MND battle
Australian hero and AFL icon Neale Daniher has died aged 65 after his brave fight with motor neurone disease.
His family has released a heartfelt statement this afternoon.
“I can’t think of a Melburnian more loved than Neale Daniher,” Jacqui Felgate said.

Former Victorian Premier, Jeff Kennett, said a state funeral should be offered to celebrate the life of the AFL legend and FightMND campaigner, and has since been announced by Premier Jacinta Allan.

“I have no doubt, the state should offer him a state funeral, because of what he represents,” Kennett said on 3AW Drive.
“Persistence, generosity, and incredible sense of courage.”
