Neil Mitchell has accused the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia of “politicising” the alleged double murder of a mother and son on Tuesday.

The association posted on Facebook since news emerged of the horrible incident, confirming one of its office holders had been involved.

While the association made mention of the tragic loss throughout the statement, there was one line that got Neil Mitchell offside.

The line?

“We do not want to allow anti-gun groups and the media to control the narrative that will come from this tragedy, which is why we’ve chosen to communicate in this way,” it read.

Neil Mitchell said it was in poor taste and hypocritical.

“They’re the ones who are politicising it,” he said.
