No changes to ban on removing facemasks to drink alcohol in public

Planning on having a celebratory champagne with a friend when you’re allowed to meet at the park this weekend? Well, you better think again.
It’s not allowed.
It is currently against the rules in Victoria to remove a facemask to drink alcohol.
The rule was introduced after takeaway pub crawls caused concern in Richmond and Northcote last month.
You are, however, allowed to remove a mask to drink any other form of beverage (and food).
The government won’t be making changes to that rule yet, despite announcing people are allowed to meet somebody in an outdoor setting from Saturday.
