North Melbourne football boss doesn’t shy away from Brayden Maynard interest

North Melbourne football boss Todd Viney says the club is targeting players like Brayden Maynard to help them improve their defensive half.

Maynard is reportedly a player of interest for the Roos, as the hard-nosed Pie weighs up his future.

While initially denying the club’s interest in Maynard, Viney later confirmed to 3AW Football that he was a player of interest to the club.

“The reporting is probably a little bit premature about him,” he said on 3AW.

“But we’re aware of every free agents … we are aware he’s out of contract. Defensively speaking, he’s a player that could potentially help us in that area if he decides to leave.”
