North Melbourne football boss Todd Viney admits he’s saddened by situation around Tarryn Thomas, but remains adamant it was the right call to sack him.

Thomas was let go by the Roos on Thursday after being banned for 18 games as a result of inappropriate behaviour towards a woman.

“Unfortunately Tarryn (Thomas) and his behaviour over the last 12-18 months has been really poor and it doesn’t align with where we’re going,” Viney told Sam McClure on Wide World of Sports.

“It was a tough call but it was one that was made for all the right reasons.”
